Context
On January 10, 2024, I decided to embark on the project of creating a fictional advertisement for a pair of Nike shoes. And because using an existing shoe model seemed too 'simple' to me, I also challenged myself to invent a new version of the Air Force 1.
Challenge
The difficulty of this project was to create content that stays within the brand's codes while deviating just enough to bring a new identity to this new pair. Technically, it was also a big 3D challenge for me because the entire video would be created in CGI.
Solution
I chose to create a very dynamic montage in which the shoe is gradually revealed, constructed with refined 3D visual effects. On top of that, I added post-production work to incorporate glitches and transitions that would enhance the music.
Clay modelisation
The entire scene was created and animated in 3D inside blender. The blocks in background was made using geometry nodes.
Cycles render
This is the render I got from exporting my 3D animations with Cycles render engine.
I worked on each shot based on a storyboard created at the very beginning of my project. The idea was to gradually reveal every detail of the shoe.
